AMBROSE & BRAZIER Herts. Are they in the 1841 - 1901 censuses?
« on: Saturday 22 April 06 22:14 BST (UK) »
Please can you help find some 1841 to 1901 Census details for Ambrose Brazier’s parents and family?
Also, is it possible to find any Army details on him?

AMBROSE BRAZIER
Born 14th June 1905  Furneux Pelham, Hertfordshire England

I’ve been told that Ambrose and his father* were both MALTSTERS at the local brewery in Furneux Pelham.
Ambrose had sisters and he was in the ARMY during WW2?
Sorry I don’t have any more details on Ambrose Brazier.

BMD details:

Ambrose Brazier
b. Sep 1905 Ware 3a 713

-----------------------------------
‘Very Possible’ parents for Ambrose Brazier

*Fred Brazier
b. Jun 1877 Ware 3a 291

**Winifred Ambrose
b. Dec 1879 Royston 3a 355

*Fred Brazier
m. Sept 1900  Royston 3a 1031
**Winifred Ambrose

Could someone please check the 1891 & 1901 census returns to see if the following 1881 Census details are correct and they are Ambrose’s only possible family & option?

Hello Alli and Peter, many thanks for all your search results on my Ambrose & Brazier families.

I can see now where the brewing & maltster side comes from.

There are quite a few Ambrose & Brazier's to follow now, ahhhh! It's a great hobby, interest and way to learn about ones history isn't it.

A little more help required - if possible please?

I would like to know:

1. What happend to Mary Ann Ambrose aged 8 from the 1851 census & is she on any other censuses?

2. William Ambrose aged 55 agr\lab on the 1841 (could he be father to John Ambrose aged 20), is he on any more censuses as father or widower?

3. Also, is the 1871 census available for my Ambrose & Brazier families;

1861   Bay House, High Street, Ware      RG9 / 805
Charles Brazier  H M 43  Beerhouse Keeper  Beds Maulden
Mary Brazier  Wife  M  41  Beds. Biggleswade

Charles Brazier  Son  12 Scholar Ware
Ellen Brazier Dau 9  Scholar  Ware
Thomas Brazier  Son  7   Scholar   Ware
Mary A Brazier Dau  5 Ware
William  Brazier  Son  3
Henry Brazier  Son  9m  Ware
&

1861  Front Street, Chipping Village RG9 / 811 Folio42 pg11
John Ambrose  Head  M  44  Ag Lab
Sarah Ambrose  Wife  M  43

Frederick Ambrose  Son   20  Ag Lab
Samuel Ambrose  Son  16  Farm servant
Charles Ambrose  Son  13  Farm Servant
Charlotte Ambrose  Dau  10  Scholar
Alfred Ambrose  Son  8  Scholar
Emily Ambrose  Dau  5
Arthur Ambrose  Son  3
Walter Ambrose  Son  4m

Many thanks again for all your help.
Kind regards,
Jed
