Hi Jed,

The IGI records the baptism of John Ambrose s/o William and Elizabeth at Buckland on 03 Mar 1816.   In addition the same couple baptised the following ...
Elizabeth 17 Jun 1804   -   William 02 Mar 1806   -   Mary 01 Nov 1807   -   James  12 Nov 1809   -   Sarah 18 Dec 1811   -   Anne 12 Jun 1814   -   Edward 23 Aug 1818.
I would mention that I found James and family at Chipping in 1841/51/61 but none of the others.    If you want details I can supply.

The Hertfordshire Burials Index for 1800-1850 records the following entries for Ambrose at Buckland. ....
Elizabeth  age 47  03 Feb 1824   -   Edward  age 22  17 Jul 1840   -   Mary  age 29  31 Jul 1845   -   William  age 67  29 Dec 1845.

Sorry I can't help with 1871.

Regards   ...   Peter

Hi,
My AMBROSE family history include the AMBROSES you have mentioned ie Frederick & Eliza, John & Sara, James & Mary - did you get answers to the questions you asked?

Hi
I am a direct descent of the AMBROSE families from Chipping Buckland and I do not think they are related to you.  In my opinion you would do better to follow the BRAZIER connection and regard Ambrose as just a christian name the family used.

Hi "metome",

WELCOME to Rootschat.

You obviously have information which leads you to an opinion that looking at the surname "Ambrose" will be a waste of Jed's time (and that of Rootschatters currently assisting). Please share it with us?

Cheers!

Ray
