Hi Cheryl--good to hear from you. I see from you your Ancestry uk Parrott tree that you have John Pegge's mother as Elizabeth Pegge b 1854. She is actually Elizabeth Cooper 1853-1942, married to John's father Arthur James Pegge 1857-1910 who is my 1st cousin 3 x removed. I have an extensive Pegge tree back to my 12th Gt Grandfather John Pegge born 1480 approx--all in Derbyshire.

I would be happy to invite you to share my Pegge/Cooper tree via Ancestry, if you would provide me with either your email address or your Ancestry uk username ?

regards, Mags Smith, nee Cooper.

Hello all Pegg researchers,
I have recently traced my father's line to a matrilineal branch of Peggs in Colton, Staffordshire, possessed of a property in Colwich called Newlands in the 1700s. The wills of the male heirs of this family all identify themselves as "Gent" rather than "Yeoman". The earliest representative of this line is Thomas Pegg, born approx 1650. We have a release of Newlands by Elizabeth Pegg to her son Thomas on 1 January 1684. How this Pegg family ties into other branches is unclear to me. Does anyone have information on this branch?

Thanks so much.

Coming back after a very long time. Ancestry UK has been a massive help and I have discovered that I actually have two Pegg lines!

One goes back to Samuel Pegge (1637-1716) who married Sarah Fletcher. He was born and died in Sutton-on-the-Hill, which I believe is quite close to Pegg Central - the Ashbourne Area.

The other goes back to Thomas Pegg who was born in 1610 in Leicestershire and died at Stoke Golding in that county. He married Margaret Wheeler. (I gather his father was another Thomas but I have no details beyond that.) This is actually my male line down to my maternal grandfather.

If anyone has either of these two in their trees and can add anything I should be very grateful.

I was astonished to find I had two Pegg lines and at first thought I might have a marriage of cousins, as there are links in both lines to Willington, Derbyshire. But in fact the two lines seem quite separate.

Hello Brian--I have both your ancestors in 2 of my Pegge trees ; Pegge/Cooper for Derbyshire, and my Leicestershire Pegg tree. Your Derbyshire Samuel Pegge 1637-1716, was married to Sarah Fletcher 1640-1718, and his father was Humphrey Pegge 1607-1689 , from Osmaston Derbyshire, and his mother was Katherine Riddiard. Samuel was my 3rd cousin 9x removed.
Thomas Pegg born 1610 in Stoke Golding, Leicestershire, and died there. one of his descendants, William Pegg, 1802-1844 in Willington, Derbyshire was my 7th cousin 5 x removed.

I would be happy to send you invitations to my two Ancestry trees if you would like ? I would need either your email address or Ancestry username. My email address is; magssmithmgsc@gmail.com

Hi again--Ancestry invites sent to your email address for both my Pegge/Cooper tree and my Leicestershire Pegg tree--hope you enjoy looking for connections--we must be very distantly related.
Do contact me via email if you have any questions or comments--I'll give you 'contributor' access so that you can interact with the trees--if you look at the individual profiles you'll see my relationship to the individuals.
regards,Mags Smith
