Just found a living relative
« on: Friday 15 October 04 21:37 BST (UK) »
I logged into GenesConnected and while trawling through my family names and dates, sent about 30 messages.

I had a load of "no"s but about an hour ago received a message from a living relative who's now in Canada.

I'm sooooo excited!

Desperate for my Woodcocks from Birmingham!

me too.

I decided to start writing to names from the electoral register.

Only started off with one letter which I sent about a month ago.  Received a reply today with more information to follow I hope.  He also said he had lost contact with a cousin that had been researching for 15 years. So is going to try and reestablish contact.

Hi Everyone thats great new's, makes all the work worthwhile :) Juring the winter a couple of years ago i went to the librarie to look in the phone book's. To see if any R.Griffith's were still in Bolton(my cousin lived there)I did the same as Elektra took a few address and wrote to only 2. A couple of weeks later i got a letter, one page with the word Bingo in large letters. That was the first one i sent. He came to visit, I hadnt seen him since he was about 7 in the 50's.
