1841 - Thomas Ellis - born Flintshire?

Hi

I have a marriage certificate for Thomas Ellis, age 39  (born about 1840) who married Margaret Green  in Jun 1879 in Everton, Liverpool.   Thomas was a widower, profession warehouseman and his father is recorded as Samuel Ellis (deceased) profession grocer.

In 1881, Thomas is shown age 41 born Hawarden, Flintshire.
In 1891, Thomas is shown age 51 born Saltney, Flintshire.
By 1901 he had died, Margaret his wife is recorded as a widow.

In Jun 1879 Thomas was a widower but who was his first wife and did he have children?   All I have is a birth about 1840 in Hawarden/Saltney and a deceased father called Samuel who was a grocer.    Cannot find Thomas in  any census before 1881 but he just might be in 1841 with a father called Samuel?

Can anyone help me, please?

Hi Gerry

There is a large family of ELLIS in Hawarden Flintshire in 1841.  Appears to be parents, children and grandchildren.  The only thing that does not fit are the occupations.

Hi Karen & Margaret

What you have found in 1841 is the nearest I have ever got to a father called Samuel and a son called Thomas born about 1840.   Any one of the three is a possibility and the field might narrow if only Samuel was found as a grocer in a leter census.   I wonder if these families could be traced in 1851 or 1861  which might just  Samuel's profession.    Thanks what you have found, I do appreciate your help and interest.
