Can anyone hazard a guess on this name please?
« on: Wednesday 03 May 06 13:44 BST (UK) »
Please can I have some suggestions as to the second name of this baby John at the bottom of the page. Also does anyone think there is something written underneath dad John's name?

The surname is Browne.....incase you want to compare writing.

Thanks

Carol

HI

Just for those that are curious like me do you have this child in the census years just to see if the middle name comes out any better at all?

Also what were the full names of both parents?

Any further censuses only show him as John.Mother and father both deceased by 1841-three young boys(this one is the youngest) are with guardians.
These are ancestors of a friend of mine-who has always read the middle name as Stressile or Strettle.IGI has him as such.

Parents names are John O'Reilly BROWNE(poss Irish?) and Frances nee Shrubb.Other two boys are Edmund(also known as Edwin)and Arthur.
Neither known to have middle names- btu if dad was deceased by the time John was born, maybe he was given an extra name because of it?

I'll ask my pal what the exact dates were.Thanks.
