Hiya,

I am really sorry but this isnt him.
I thought it was but the 1881 census shows hm with parents, but my David Allen married Mary Williams in 1880 and had a child David J Allen in 1881.
I am confused now

Thanks for that hun, is he on the 1871?...I cant seem to find him anywhere prior to 1881..they is a mystery going on,. cos on his birth cert, his father is down as Jenkin Thomas, deceased..but Davids surname is ALLEN.

He could possibly be the one I found as a 14yo in Wales, going by his age in 1881 he would have been around 14yrs old in 1871. He's about the only one thats close enough age wise and being born in Merthyr.

Now I'm confused! A  possible scenario that does come to mind though-- pregnant with anothers child  - one Jenkin Thomas and David Allen has adopted him as his own?? Oh gosh I don't envy you on this one!
There are a lot of Mary Williams in Wales in 1871 do you have her parents names?
