This looks like the right one to me ...thanks very much Valerie :)

It's actually Nellie who is my family. Her father William Wilmot was my g grandfather's brother. I deduced her husband from family notices someone sent me from the Chronicle Telegraph, Elyria - whch is where her family settled.

On May 31 1931 Mr and Mrs John McComb and baby were expected as visitors in Elyria. Plus in the death notice of one of her sisters, her residence was given as Lansing.

The pieces are slowly slotting together. Now I "just" have to find a McComb baby born between census date and May 1931  ;D

Many thanks for your help, Heather

Hi.  Nellie Wilmot was my grandmother. She traveled to Elyria with her mother, and older sister, Alice, and twin sister, Gertie.  According to her, her father came earlier after borrowing money from the local pub owner for travel!  (At least that is what I remember.) She married John McComb and they had two children, William and Joyce.  I believe William was born around the time you're thinking about. William had four children, a number of grandchildren, and probably some great grandchildren.  Hope this info was helpful.
