Chat Room Novice
« on: Saturday 06 May 06 12:09 BST (UK) »
Hope you don't mind me using this thread to ask a couple of questions. If it's inappropriate here then I expect that it could be moved to a new thread  :-\

1. What are the best times of day to come into the chatroom - as a novice and just to watch?

2. is there any way of finding our who is in the chatroom, as there is for 'users on line' for example?

Hi Gadget

I went in for the first time last week.

It's not as scary as you think ;)

Only trouble I have is typing an answer fast enough before someone else asks something.

Looks like some very strange answers to questions at times.     ;D ;D ;D

Hi Both

This thread seems to have been moved around a bit  ;)

Thanks for the friendly advice/welcome. I was going to pop in this evening but events and all that.

I promise to come in one of these days, just to observe at first and, who knows, I might just end up chatting the hind legs off a donkey  ;D

Let me know when you are venturing in!!!!  I used the chatroom a lot (not much lately though) and always had a giggle.

I found the evenings the best.  Lots of members in, and you do have to type fast to keep up but great fun nonetheless :)

I will Jan. I nearly popped in last night but got sidetracked by HTML and CSS and stuff  :o
Maybe I'll watch for the first time (me in a room without saying anything  :o :o) I'll have to revise all those shortcuts but I do type pretty fast - big sister taught me when I was in my teens - best thing ever  ;)

Gadget,

When you log on to the chatroom several chatters will send a welcome. Apart from acknowledging, there is no need to dive in straight away.  You might want to wait until a topic comes up which might interest you and/or which you feel you can contribute to.

  Happy chatting,
  Isles.

Hi Isles
How does one acknowledge  ??? I read that there are shortcuts like plain text smilies  ??? ....
or should I just wave  ::)
Don't worry about the interest/contribution - I'll find that  :-X
