http://img236.imageshack.us/my.php?image=denise26ug.jpgThe picture has a lot of moire which means it is a picture of a picture, usually from a magazine or book or copy.
As an exercise I used a counter (from my theatre checking days) and each time I saved the pic after making changes
I counted, the number was 62 times, so to try and record
what I actually did and with what tools would have taken
me hours of typing, even so I could not have used the same
method on another picture.
I do not use layers or masks, no lasso (unless bringing a
section from another pic) so I can't advise you on that
method.
When I first started to restore, repair or enhance, I found out what each tool would do by opening undamaged pics and trying every tool at every setting to see what effect I got, and
from doing so learned which tool I need to do a specific job, it's
a little like diving into the deep end of a swimming pool when you can't swim, either learn quickly or drown!!
