Thank you Maryanne,
Yes I have James and Sarah's marriage but not Sarah's birth. I also have James' baptism along with five siblings his parents were John RULE and Catherine BRYANT who m 8 Feb 1752 Philack John s of another John was bap Gwinear 1731 but I haven't found Catherine's parents nor who the oldest John married.
If you come across any of these please let me know
Unfortunately I haven't got a James c1800/1 either, my James has to my knowledge Sarah 1782 Catherine 1789 Catherine 1793 and Elizabeth 1795 no boys so no James All these in Gwithian no d of either James or Sarah has been found so it is possible they moved and possibly had a James else where again I'll keep in touch if any thing turns up

The Rule's in my husband's family were living in Connor Downs during the 1841 census although in the following census' they mention Gwithian.

Baptisms are harder to find.

I will be searching for marriages in a few weeks again for my husband's family.

I have some marriages for Gwithian. As daft as I am I copied some other Rule marriages but I aren't sure whether they are also Phillack. They may be Gwithian or Camborne.

The Rule names I copied are James , Johnson,Jonson,George, Philip,Henry and James.

James married your Sarah Reed.

I will also contact you if I find anything.

Hi

I believe that a researcher by the name of Malcolm Carlson from Victoria, Australia, was interested in this line.  Maybe an internet search will find his email address.

I have this John RULE (m Catherine BRYANT) in my tree as follows:

John RULE bapt 26 Dec 1719 Camborne son of
Johnson RULE (1696-1772) m ca 1718 Mary (they were of Gwithian and Camborne) son of
Johnson RULE (ca 1663-1723) m 1687 Elizabeth JAMES (they were of Camborne) son of
Johnson RULE (1629-1683) m 1654 Rebecca VEALE (they were of Camborne) son of
John RULE (b ca 1600) m ca 1620 Margery (they were of Camborne) son of
Robert RULE

I don't know how correct this line is, so if you have any comments, I'd be interested.

Cheers

Peter

Hi Peter,
I'm a bit confused  :o What date have you got for the John RULE/Catherine BRYANT marriage? I found the marriage from Family Search 8 Feb 1752 Philack but it is a patrons submission which we all know can be dodgy Could I be following a red herring? Yours are a lot earlier aren't they?

Hi Trees

Same date.  Just makes the groom a little older.  I don't know which is correct.  If it is yours, he would have been about 21 years.  If mine, about 33 years.  Johnson Rule who died 1772 left a will - it might sort it out - but I haven't obtained that will yet.

Cheers

Peter

Hi Trees

I found a reference to the will at:

http://webs.lanset.com/azazella/gwithian_pro.html

He was of Gwithian, probate dated 19 Jan 1773.

The main page is at:

http://webs.lanset.com/azazella/cornish_database.html

I think these wills are available through LDS film hire.

Cheers

Peter
