hi Lady J

Sorry I don't have anything further on her apart from that she died sometime before 1873 I think Lanarkshire Glasgow. Her daughter Isabella McLennan married in Glasgow central District in 1873.
Margaret married a Donald McLennan. I assume that they were from Lanarkshire as most of my tree seems to stem from there (pardon the pun!  :P)

thank you for your reply.
My grandfather was Thomas William McAdam b1899 in Ardwick Manchester.
His siblings were Jessie 1889
Ada1891
Margaret 1893
Lizzie 1895
Frank 1896
Their parents were Thomas William McAdam b 1871 in Chorlton on Medlock and Margaret Parrott b 1872.
Thomas' father was William McAdam b 1840 in Scotland.
He married Esther Vernon in 1861.
My grandfather Thomas married Selina Shaw in 1826 and at that time they both lived in Ashton upon Mersey near Sale in Cheshire.
Hope this helps,
Thanks   Chris.

Thanks for that.
I love seeing old photos, it helps to see where the people you
are researching lived.
Did you get the photograph from a website?

My Great great grandmother was a McAdam.

MARGARET MCADAM  born c1837 Wigtownshire Scotland, daughter of JANET MCDOWELL and JAMES MCADAM

Married JOHN LANDERS Penninghame 11/04/1865 (a Mary McAdam was witness at the wedding, possible relation?)
Had 9 children.

Died 1899 Minnigaff aged 62.

JAMES MCADAM born c1809 Inch, Wigtownshire according to 1851 census, occupation farm labourer.
Was still alive in 1865 at time of Margaret's wedding.

I have not had time to explore this branch any further yet. I would be keen to hear if anyone has any more information about this line.
