Hi Jim I ,  Yes, I would say something has happened in their recent updates or changes.....

However Ellen Anglands birth is still on the I.G.I. but not in the parent search..(still with the father as Mau.)...I'll see if I can any of the other children that I didn't take note of at the time... I didn't think I had to when a parent search would have brought them up   ::)

 Birth
Christening-  02 APR 1865   Roman Catholic, Boherbue, Cork, Ireland

  Father:  MAU. ANGLAND  Family
  Mother:  MARY CONNOR

 C700771  1833 - 1864

 C700771  1865 - 1875

Also

Anne  24.12.1866
Pat.    20.02.1873
Mau.   23.05.1869

I found these on a general ''Angland '' birth search for Cork...

This is the only way Mau.   23.05.1869 appears.  (or on a batch search)

Pat.  appears under a search for Patrick.

Hi all,

Another Angland voice to add to the frey!    :)
I am descended from Daniel Angland and Ellen Carhill - their Great Granddaughter.   (my grandfather was Daniel Angland, the son of Daniel and Ellen)
The information that had been passed down verbally through my branches of the family was that Daniel's father was Michael Angland and that after Michael lost his first wife - one Mary Lynch he married his housekeeper Julia Greaney.    However finding evidence of Mary Lynch's marriage to Michael seems tricky...  and yet Pat Angland also confirmed this coupling for me along with fairly clear lists of which children went with which wife.   I sadly have not been able to locate any marriage certificates for Michael & Mary ... or for Michael and Julia....  however these names seem to repeat themselves constantly throughout the branches of the Angland family

The prior posts on this site is the first mention I have heard of Nora Leane as the first wife of Michael and I had always assumed that Nora was perhaps the wife of one of the many other Michaels seem to be in every branch of our family!

I think we really need to pool togeather to solve this never ending mystery of Michael and his wives...  if anyone has any clear birth or marriage documention that would start to decipher who is linked to I would be extremely grateful.

Sadly I no longer have Pat Angland's contact details due to a corrupted computer so anyone that is still in contact with her....  I wonder if she has any certificates?

Regards,

Danielle

Tiffany,

Jeremiah William Angland was known as Bill?  My grandmother always used to refer to her brother-in-law as Bill....   and my Grandfather Daniel Angland (who apparently had only one brother) was the son of Daniel Angland and Ellen Cahill.

I have a photo of this family in my passageway if you would like a copy?

Tiff,

I have just remembered...  there were actually three brother!   Daniel,  and Bill - but long before them the second child born to Daniel and Ellen was a baby called Michael...  sadly this baby died as a baby and so was long past into history by the time Bill and Daniel arrived.

I also have a photo of Daniel & Ellen with thier eldest daughter Julia and baby Michael sitting on Ellen's knee.   I guess he must have died shortly after. :-[

I am unable to post the photo of the larger sized family as it is too many KB... how would you like me to get a copy to you?   do you belong to any other ancestory websites that will enable us to exchange photos?  (maybe GenesReunited?)

The second photo is of a younger Daniel and Ellen with thier eldest daughter, Julia and Baby Michael who sadly died.   this one seems smaller so I can post this one no problem...

I hope you like them   ::)

Well guys...

We have confirmation of the identity Michael's second wife - the mother of Daniel Angland...
Have obtained the marriage certificate of Daniel Angland and Ellen Cahill from NZ births deaths and marriages.  This has the parents of both Daniel and Ellen listed.
I have transcribed the details on the certificate below:

They were married on the 26th Feb 1889 in the Church of the Immaculate Conception in the District of Geraldine, New Zealand.
Both ages are just listed as 'full'  (not enormously helpful!!)
Daniel's rank/profession is listed as Farmer
and Ellen's rank/profession is listed as  Lady
Interestingly both have their birthplace listed as County Kerry in Ireland...   (now how is that for adding to the confusion!!!...  I wonder if that is an error on the Register's part)
Daniel's residence is listed as Milford, and Ellen's residence as Geraldine.

Daniel's parents are listed as:
Michael Angland (farmer) and Julia Angland (nee Greney)

Ellen's parents are listed as:
Jeremiah Cahill (farmer)  and Norah Cahill (nee Sullivan)

And there we have it....
Next step obtain Daniel & Ellen's death certificates,  and try and get hold of a marriage certificate for one of Daniel's older siblings to try and confirm the first wife's name...

Danielle:  you said

I don't think this was an error!

They were probably talking about baptisms so be aware that both Kiskeam and Boherbuie are/were in the Catholic DIOCESE of Kerry although in the COUNTY of Cork.
