William Taylor WIMBISH
« on: Wednesday 17 May 06 12:06 BST (UK) »
Hi

Does any of you have the PRs for Wimbish in Essex for the 1820s as the IGI entries for the village only go up to 1812.

I am looking inparticular for a William Taylor baptism 1822 to 1825 in the village, fathers name Allen Taylor or John Taylor.

His marriage cert says fathers name is Allen, yet I think I have him on 1841, right age group living with a John Taylor as head of household, so a bit of confusion over fathers name.

Thanks

Ben

I'm not sure if this is going to help you, or hinder you...

http://www.freewebs.com/amberger1978/texttree.htm

It's our family tree so far, although I don't know how much of it is accurate, we have some Allens, Williams and Johns all in the Wimbish area. If anything coincides with what you have, I'd be very interested.

...Not that it seems to answer your question.

Gary Taylor.

Hi. I am not sure if these people are connected, but... My second great grandad was Charles Taylor, (1823-1904 )married to Mary Staines.(1825 to 1896) I am not sure of their children's names besides James Taylor(1846-1920) who is my 1st great grandfather.

Hmmm ... two William Taylors.
One baptised to Allen and Ann Taylor 22/21824
One to John and Ann 15/10/1825

If the marriage cert says Allen as father, then I think the William son of John is a different one t9 yours. Probably cousins. I’ll go back a bit and look. Do you have Allen and Ann’s dates and marriage etc?

Just looked at the date of the original post and realised how old it is.
