Baptism look up--Wartling or Hailsham
« on: Sunday 21 May 06 05:35 BST (UK) »
In A2A it is recorded that on the 1 May 1828 a James Wenham paid the overseers for the parish of Hailsham money to "acquit the parish" of any charges for the upkeep of his illegitimate daughter born to Charlotte Newton at Wartling.

Does anyone have  transcription of the Wartling parish records and could do a look up for me?

I have a James Wenham with an aunt Charlotte Newton who is a year younger then himself, and was wondering if these are the same.  My Charlotte married a James Lambert on 23 Sept 1829 in Brighton.  They had a daughter Emma abt 1829 according to census.  Was this actually James and Charlotte's daughter?

Thanks, Laverdiere
