Hi Braco, its been a long time since we last spoke and i hope you are keeping well.
I have went back looking at my family tree and have found William Bolton Hurst born 1921 in Anderston, Glasgow. I found out he emigrated to Australia just after the the end of WW2, April 1946.
He died 5th July 1987 in Rugby, NSW. During the war he was in the Royal Navy.
Looks like he was possibly your uncle.
Do you have any info on him and also your father and family for my tree?
Hopefully hear from you soon

Edward Carlisle married Bridget McCarroll on 11 May 1855 at Lisnaskea Registrar's Office:

Among the various children born to the couple was Isabella, who married Henry Kearney in 1891 - she and Henry were Charlotte's witnesses at her marriage to George Hurst in Govan in 1892:

Bridget (Carroll/McCarroll) Carlisle died in 1914:

Edward Carlisle died in 1917, note that Charlotte Hurst was the informant present at death (his age is understated):

Edited to add: The following are possibly some of Charlotte's and Isabella's siblings born post introduction of civil birth registration:

- John James in 1865:

- Elizabeth in 1867:

- Edward in 1870:

Possibly also a sister Mary born c. 1861 who married a Robert Palmer in 1889?

........all that I have is that he was born in Enniskillen, Fermanagh, Ireland.

George Hurst was born in the workhouse in Enniskillen. The informant on his birth record was Alexander Rice, Master of the Enniskillen Union workhouse.

Hi Gaffy, thanks for your quick reply and new information.

In the 1911 Census for Edward and Bridget it was recorded that they had 8 children and only 3 were still alive.
I managed to find 5 of them and they were John James 1865-1891, Elizabeth 1867, Charlotte circa 1870-1954, Edward 1870-1874, Sarah Anne Circa 1861 plus the 2 (Isabella and Mary) that you have supplied so my next task is to find No 8; not an easy task.

Edward it would seem started of as a labourer, became a Stone mason and ended as a carpenter, a man of many talents.

I noticed Isabella and i assumed her husband as witnesses on Charlotte's marriage certificate and wondered who they were.

John James was a soldier in the British army and died of Syphilus aged 27

Sarah Anne married John Earley in 1887, he was also a soldier and in the 1901 census Sarah was recorded as a widow, they had a son John in 1889.

Thank you again for your help

Hi Kiltaglassan, thanks for confirming George's birth details, i only found this info on Monday.

A story from one of my aunts was that Anne Moore was involved with a George Hurst who was above her station, he was a Protestant and she a Catholic so the affair ended when she became pregnant.

1901 resided at House 9, Dearpark, Lismalore, Fermanagh
In 1911 Edward and Bridget had moved to House 1, Taltenamona, Greenhill, Fermanagh.

Possibly not. Remember that the house numbers in the census returns are merely a number a particular enumerator assigned to a house in that particular census. It was only in towns or cities that there were house numbers but in rural areas the townland was the actual address.
You can check the Valuation Revision Books on PRONI to see if the did stay in the same house.
