Plympton St Mary parish records

Hi Pat,
I too am researching the Gribble family of Plymouth especially the family you have in 1851.
Sarah's mother Mary was a Mary Pearce before she married and my husband's
3x greatgrandmother's sister (Jane Pearce).
Are you researching this family of Gribble's?

Wow thats great someone else looking for same people..

I am  looking now for the Gribbles....Sarah married William Francis Stentiford and had a daughter Rosie Jane. but she died when Rosie was only about a year old....
William is my gt grandads brother... in posting  above I am looking for his second marriage.

I have concentrated on the Stentifords but now would like to trace their partners.

Hi Pat,
I have the birth cert of Sarah's brother William b 1848 Mother Mary Pearce father Benjamin Robert Gribble Private Royal Marines they were living at 26 Mount St Plymouth.
Maybe   David could still look out for you for this family as I cannot find a marriage between them both.
I have Mary and her children on the 1851,1861 and 1871 censuses but Benjamin is never at home.
When did Sarah and William Francis marry?

OK  now going to be a pain....Cathy has given me Sahas parents but would still like her birth date.. but if you have time could you see if there is a marraige for them about 1845sh

When I was given Sarahs name it came as Gribbell, but I think the way we have it now is right.

When I go to Kew next hopefully soon. I will try and find out something on Benjamins navy records..corr great something else to find..

Cathy who replied to me on this topic as given me 61/71/census for the Gribbles. and all it says birth place Plymouth.... not much help with the size of Plymouth. is it.
