Dear Audrey,
thanks so much for finding her brother. Have been up against a brick wall for so long trying to trace any of my grandmother's family in Ireland.

Hello,

On Griffiths Valuation 1847-1864 there is only one record of a Patrick Dowling living in Bray, Co. Wicklow.

He was living in the gate lodge of the Kilruddery Demesne (east) which was owned by the Earl of Meath.

The only other Dowling in Bray was Simon Dowling, living in a hose on the Main Street in the town.

I wonder would there be Estate records available for Kilruddery?

Hello bullym,

Greetings from the Garden County,  Earl Meaths Estate at Kilruddery was the home of the Brabazon Family

The Earl Meath that probably was there when your ancestor lived at the Gate Lodge at the estate was Reginald, I have attached a photo of his grave.

Will take a photo of the Gate Lodge for you and forward to you..

Best wishes

Mo

PS will also see if there are any records for you in the local library.
