Very very interesting stuff, Wendy!  Thank you so much for digging this stuff up!  If John is no longer the head- think he passed away?  Also, I checked out the address in google-maps, and it's smack-dab beside a huge church... but also near an inlet... interesting.    Guess they're always by the sea, this family.

I am a Soutar from Jamaica who has been researching my Grandfather's name but have hit a barrier.  I grew up in Temple Hall with my Grandmother and her brothers and sisters all named Soutar and I have a old few pictures of Grandpa and his brother among tobacco leaves in the field.

My great gandfather was Colliston Soutar and my Grandmother is still alive at 82, but she hasnt been able to add much. Colliston was born on or about 1881 in the Isle of Man

Hi Dale, I think we may have chatted on a dna website, but if not, I also am a Soutar, my father from Jamaica, I was always brought up to believe Simon was my gggranfather, however now discover an uncle who was looking after my g grandfather as his father returned to England leaving him behind. Simons father was a light keeper, this summer we are travelling up to stay in one of the lighthouses he lived in. There are 4 generations further back that I have records for and hope to find more whilst there. How far are you back now, can we chat? Carol
