Hi again.
My apologies in advance, but I just have to share this with someone before I burst!!

As posted, my wife's great great uncle was Sidney Daniels, a third class steward who survived the sinking of the Titanic.

Well, through a well-known Genes Connecting website, I have just made contact with his daughter!!

I am just soooo excited.  I'll let you all know how it goes.
Thanks for listening, and sorry for bursting!

My lot too, including the ever-suffering Mrs B. I wouldn't care but I've taken her tree back 100 years further than mine! She says there is something wierd about people who spend so much time stalking round cemeteries!!!

Well done thudnut.

This passenger on the Titanic is a distant relative of my husband. McCrae, Mr. Arthur G.
He was on his way to propose to his girlfriend and I believe the ring was found in his pocket (He drowned  and his body was recovered :'(  :'(  ).

I originally went looking as another family researcher had made mention that "a radio operator on the Titanic was a distant relative". I didn't ever find the radio operator but I found Arthur as a second class passenger.

Trish

PS It always seems to be my husband's family with the intriguing family history. He is not vaguely interested - but he does visit cemeteries with me and take the photographs - his interest being photography.  :)

Lynn

Hi Lynn,
My husband has Rostron's in his family, there are some that say that he was a relative too. I have yet to prove it but it makes a good story ;)

Hi Lynn,

Edward Rostron 1817-1884 Newchurch - Waterfoot area married Maria Burslem. They had quite a few children...

Edward, Maria, Thomasine, Dora Isabella, Butterworth, Frances Maria and Louisa.

Edward was a Felt Carpet Manufacturer of some standing! Haven't as yet gathered much about him pre Maria.

But along the way I have come across a lot of Rostron's who all have the same claim to fame :D  I guess no harm - no foul  ;) ;) what do you say!!
