I have a Large framed photo of Roland Sherwin, born Gravesend.....lived in Meopham Green Kent
His parents where Antoinette Crook born Gravesend Kent. The family had Crooks the bakery in New Road Gravesend.
His father as far as I know came from Yorkshire?
Roland was a neighbour of mine. His dear old Mum and himself ran a window cream business which was started by his Dad, called Shervil Window cream in Meopham Green, who I worked for.....they became very good friends...sadly both no longer with us.  He was a great artist and exhibited at the RA.

I saw your info. the other day but cannot find it now. I used to live at Meopham and think the Shervil manufacturing took place behind the butchers (no longer there) at Meopham Green.

Yes...you are right....it was behind the cottages too.  I used to work for the family and became great friends. I have one of Rolands paintings, as he was an artist as well as running the "window cream" business. The land behind the house now has 4 detached house on it

Thankyou very much for the kind offer   I lived Meopham Green back in 1973.
I only live in Gravesend now, so it is no problem for me to get to Meopham.
Hope you enjoy your visit, it has changed quite a bit there,
