Gravestone photo Victoria British Columbia
« on: Friday 09 June 06 12:30 BST (UK) »
I have an ancestor buried in Victoria and have details of the cemetery and plot. I'm going to be really cheeky and ask if anyone living in the area would mind taking a photo for me. It would be really appreciated cos I can't see me getting over there!

Hello Cristeen,

Check out the following website www.raogk.org/bcolumbia.htm

Scrool down the list to find a volunteer for Victoria who will take a photo for
you. Follow the guidelines on the site. I have used  Random Acts Of Genealogical
Kindness many times and have found them to be most helpfull.

Good luck

Hi
Wow this is a blast from the past!
His name was John Steavenson and he died 14th April 1895, family lore says he died seal hunting
In 1891 he was lodging on Johnson Street, Victoria City, aged 65 and described as a gentleman
His probate states he was of Victoria, British Colombia. He left about £1500 but was estranged from his family so there may not be a headstone. I said I had details of the cemetery and plot but can't find them now :(
Thanks for any information you can provide
