She married a George Moffat  (plumber)- lived in Dumfries, had a daughter Rose b. 1904 Dumfries.

Need to find out when they emigrated to Canada - they were there in 1922.-died 1953

Yes, I have details on Hugh and Rosina's marriage. Thanks.

Found their daughter's marriage and first born, on Scotlands people.

Unfortunately cannot find any other children. Scotlands people stop at 1905.

However, I would like to find out Hugh and Rosina's death details.

From the free searches on Scotlands People, there is a death of a Rosina MacKay, other name MacLean in 1936, with a birth year of 1852. This entry appears in Ross & Cromarty. You would have to view to confirm that this is the right one, but it is the only entry showing with a birth year 1850 +/- 10 yrs.

This was Rosina. Also found her husband, Hugh MacKay. Thank you very much for your help, made my search much easier.

One more question and, hopefully you can assist.

Where can I find out when they went to America/Canada. They were still in Dumfries in June 1907 but in Canada 1922.

Perhaps I'll never find out, the same way I am having difficulty finding whether they had anymore children here, before going to Canada.

The only info I have is, in 1922, it is said they emigrated  with his family, some years ago.

Regards

Margaret

Why don't you post two separate messages in the Emigrants to US/Canada here on RootsChat, see this link www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/board,136.0.html
Hopefully someone will have access to more relevant emigration records.

I'll have a quick look now at the Ellis Island site for New York arrivals.
