Hello Annie

Nice to see I might be able to help some one with military after all the help I've received.

Find in Library (U.S. & Canada & UK locations):
Type England and you will get a list:

Maybe one of these is close to you or someone on chats. I looked and not near where I am.

You may find this of interest Annie:

Thanks Gentlemen and Linda !

Somebody offered me this book as I was looking for Al Crighton's Granddad !! - and I wondered if anybody had it already - and if it would be worth picking it up !!  :) this is what it said ...

Quote
The British soldiers who marched off to war in 1914 wore only regimental insignia, yet by the time of the armistice in November 1918, insignia in the British Army had undergone a considerable change. Now visible was a bewildering display of coloured devices on uniforms, helmets, vehicles, guns, signboards and flags. Regimental badges remained but were joined by divisional insignia. These were rarely seen in the front line. Instead the 'battle patch' had appeared for combat use. In this beautifully illustrated book Mike Chappell looks at the colourful variety of insignia used by the British Army during the Great War

Thanks for posting this Annie.  We're actually trying to identify a shoulder badge which my Grandfather is sporting in a photo believed to have been taken in Egypt around 1918.

I'd very much appreciate any information or guesses on the badge.   I saw a reference to the book too but it's apparently out of print.
