« on: Monday 19 June 06 14:31 BST (UK) »
Could anybody please tell me how long the Pickles family lived at - 81, Well'ith Lane, Rochdale. Lancashire? just by using the census.
Also does anybody know if this address is still standing? if so whereabouts?
Does anybody have any photo's of this address?
Also looking for the names of the local newspapers in 1916 - 1918, Where could the papers be viewed?
Anymore help in regards this subject would be welcomed.
I would be grateful for any help whatsoever as i live in OZ.
Thanks in Advance -  Smithy.

Hello

You can find Well L' Th' Lane Rochdale on www.multimap.com
It's in Stoneyfield Rochdale not too far from the centre - from memory it's a mixture of terrace houses and industrial units now.
For info on Rochdale look at www.rochdale.gov.uk and select the Touchstones Study Centre / Museum - you'll find info on past conditions and a few old photos

regards Peter

Hi Smithy, not sure if you'll see this but my paternal granddad, James Pickles, was living at 81 Well'ith Lane, Rochdale at that time. He was born in 1905 and died in 1993.
