Susan Boyd m. ? Robson
« on: Wednesday 21 June 06 01:02 BST (UK) »
This is very much a long shot but I am hoping that someone will be able to help with this ..

Susan BOYD born 1879 in Islay, Argyle, Scotland is shown on the 1881 census as a one year old pauper living in Greenock Poorhouse (no other family with her). Her parents were Gilbert Boyd (seaman, believed drowned off the coast of Baltimore, probably about this time and Susan Stewart).

She doesn't appear on the 1891 or 1901 that I can see and it is known that she went to Canada and was married to a Canadian called ROBSON - no idea when and where.

Susan was involved in a train crash in Canada in 1910/20's and lost both legs in the disaster although she lived until the 1950's.

many thanks,

Lindsay

Hello Karen, sorry, no I don't, no idea.

Should have said in the post above that I couldn't find her in the 1891 or 1901 in Scotland - bit ambiguous, sorry.

regards,

Lindsay

Thank you Karen. I've taken a 24 hour subscription so we'll see what comes up. I'll let you know if I find anything.

oh, please do....

She may not have been in Ontario, but if it was a train crash it could have made the paper.
