Hi again,

I lived in City Road, hubby lived in Ryehill lane not far from where you lived in Peddie Street.

I moved to Douglas & Angus about 1953/4 can't quite remeber exactly. I used to travel down the Blackness Road on the Tram Car to get into town.

Oh old times, makes me feel so old now!!

I was born in 1958 so a wee bit before my time, but I'm starting to feel old also.

Old your not old, now I am old, 10 years older than you anyway.

Anyway your only as young as you feel.

Maybe the old Princes Cinema in the Hawkhill would be gone by your time too.  We queued up every Saturday to see the movies for kids.

My kids went to the Gaumont cinema on Saturday mornings.

So when you were at St. Joesphs were you taught by Brothers or just normal teachers?

Hi again,

You must be talking about the primary school which was across from the State Cinema both boys and girls there mixed school, nuns were the teachers there.
Boys usually went there and then went down to the other St Joseph's boys school in Blackness Road which was run by the Brothers, there was a brother Sidney there he was the headmaster at the time when my husband was at the school.
Did you not have to attend this school?  the building is still there, no longer a school though.
