Hi Liz  :)

Not sure what you are asking for?

If you don't mind, I suggest you post what you know so far and what you are looking for and we'll try to help.

Liz, I hope you don't mind me posting your PM here so that everybody can have a go.

I am trying to find a  birth entry for William Hendley b. abt. 1844.

In the 1871 census he was living at Kingston on Thames with his wife,Emily, and child also named William louis.  On the census he was stated as bricklayer, aged 26. born westminster middlesex. I have tried bmd, ancestry etc but cannot find entry.

Immediate question: Have you found him on other census returns? Are age and birthplace consistent? Have you checked the complete indexes for his birth? Do you have his marriage cert? Where does the Dudley/Alcester come from if he was born Middlesex and living in Surrey?

There isn't a matching William on previous census returns  :-\

I think I can see the marriage:
William Louis Hendley to possibly Emily Coombs
June quarter 1870
Kingston, 2a 420

Hi again Liz,

I'll continue here because PMs get lost in my PM box.

As I said, if he was born in Westminster then his birth should have been registered in St James Westminster.

You say you have his marriage cert. Could you post all the details of the cert?
