Same here Joanne
I've tried every whichway, it wont do it.  Says it's too big to load.  I even went down to postage stamp size.  My memory says it is 324kb...how can I change it to 300 or less? There doesn't seem to be anything to click on to change the size.

your pictures probably have names ending with .bmp (BitMaP Format)

If you load the picture in a program like IrfanView (freeware) then you can
a) change the format from BMP to JPG which needs less bytes, and then
b) in the "image" menu there is a "resize" option. you can change the size of the picture to anything you want.

if you already have your pictures in JPG ot GIF, just use b)

another tip:
If you have scanned the picture in using a scanner (probably 300 dpi) and want to print it, then you need to size it down to about a quarter (75 dpi)

Hope this helps

You can download IRFANVIEW from:  http://www.irfanview.com/

I think a size of 200- 250 pixels looks OK.

(I still think we need a "technical help" board, so we can find this sort of stuff quickly ... !)

Bob
Mine is already in jpeg.  I scanned it in, then downsized it as small as it would go, but when I tried to load it onto the site, it came back as the original size.  I shall get my computer wiz kid to call round when I get back from my Mum's in a fortnight.
I spent nearly all day yesterday trying to do it.  Must get on with the packing now.
Bye for now

Mrs Lizzy,  what a lovely thing to say,   :-[

It is a very flattering photo I can assure you,  I never look like that except when I am getting married.  ;D  Once so far.

You have changed your Coat of arms,  this one is much more colourful,  I like it.  I did like your old motto though.  A mind conscious of right,  I wished it was mine.

Kazza.

Dump your husband, marry one of my brothers, and it could be!  Except it is just "a" Phillips motto - no evidence us Camberwell Phillipses are connected at all - much to the Conscious of Right Phillipses' relief!!

Just had a thought, or as someone else said here today, a lamp bulb moment:

when I was trying to attatch, using the "browse" button, the name in th window came up as "d:\picture.jpg" and I also had problems. I then changed the \ to / so it read "d:/picture.jpg" and it worked like a charm !!

your problem too, maybe ??

I tried that Bob, and it still hasn't worked.  You are all obviously destined never to see my glamourous chops !!  Who can I pretend to look like?  Leading on to a new topic.
