It's my turn now - here it is!!!!!!

I have just posted the pic and it's huge even though I altered the size in my photo program - how do I make it smaller on here?  Sorry, folks lol

Here's a reply to a similar question I posted on another topic:

Quote
your pictures probably have names ending with .bmp (BitMaP Format)

If you load the picture in a program like IrfanView (freeware) then you can
a) change the format from BMP to JPG which needs less bytes, and then
b) in the "image" menu there is a "resize" option. you can change the size of the picture to anything you want.

if you already have your pictures in JPG ot GIF, just use b)

another tip:
If you have scanned the picture in using a scanner (probably 300 dpi) and want to print it, then you need to size it down to about a quarter (75 dpi)

Hope this helps

You can download IRFANVIEW from:  http://www.irfanview.com/

I think a size of 200- 250 pixels looks OK.

(I still think we need a "technical help" board, so we can find this sort of stuff quickly ... !)

As to my pictures, I am camera shy, so here is my passport photo and (another) picture of me, from my daughter:

Thanks for that Bob.

I did resize the image - tried several different sizes actually - but it's still huge on the board!!!!!!!

I'll keep trying  ;D
