« on: Friday 30 June 06 17:18 BST (UK) »
Hi
Dont know if anyone can help but i cant seem to find a death or burial for my ancestor Edmund Eastment.
He was born in 1846 and was on the 1901 census aged  54 living  27 Gray Street St Andrews Northampton.
Wife Betsy died in 1916 Northampton but  dont have the cert yet.

Can anyone help me please?
Regards

hi Ruth  :)

Where have you looked so far for his death?

FreeBMD etc only goes up to about 1910, but the alternative is to search on the free BMD images on Ancestry from 1910 onwards.  You can search the images by year/quarter - can be a bit tedious, but with Eastment, at least it's a fairly uncommon name (ie rather than searching Smiths).

Thank you Clara for replying.

I have looked at the GRO but even though i searched up to 1946 and for any possible variations of the surname, i.e Eastman, Eastham etc, still no joy. Suggestions gratefully received

Hmmmm, not sure then, Ruth (though no doubt, someone here will find him  ;)).

To be honest, I've also been unable to find various relatives of mine as well, using the Ancestry BMD images, so they're not a completely failsafe resource.

Sorry, but sure someone else can jump in  ;)

good luck

Once you have Betsy's death certificate you will be able to narrow down the time frame. Before or after her death, as she should be describe as 'wife of' or 'widow of' Edmund Eastment.
