LAVENDER family of Hemingford Abbots
« on: Wednesday 27 October 04 09:20 BST (UK) »
Am trying to trace the parentage of a Thomas LAVENDER in Hemingford Abbots, Hunts circa 1783.  I believe his father was also called Thomas (according to the LDS website), but no other details seem to be available.
Also I understand that Thomas Lavender, b.1783 married Elizabeth MACKINESS in 1808 at Hemingfor Abbots.  Again I cannot find her birth anywhere.
Do the Lavenders of Hemingford Abbots appear in your family tree?

Thomas and Elizabeth Lavender are on the 1841 census together with their children John, Thomas and Richard. Elizabeth is a widow in 1851-she has two of her children living with her. There is a death for Elizabeth Lavender 7/3/1867 aged 80 years, so born in 1787and it looks like the Thomas who died in 1850 was her husband.
regards.

I must apologise to both Victor Harvey and paco for not responding much, much earlier to their posts on this thread.  I have been offline for a while and simply hadn't seen their info.  Yes, you are both right in your findings, and many thanks for taking the time to reply to my opening post.
