WHITE Mary A L, 1868, Somerston, London
« on: Wednesday 27 October 04 14:35 BST (UK) »
I have the birth certificate of MARY ANN LEONORA WHITE, born 05-03-1868 at 12, York Buildings, Somerstown, London St. Pancras.  Her father was Edward Timothy White, blacksmith; her mother was Mary Ann White, formerly Allen.
I went up many such blind alleys when searching for the birth of my gt-grandmother Annie Laura White, which I eventually discovered in March 1873 in Somerstown.

I never really imagined that anyone might claim any of these incorrectly ordered certificates, but I've just had a response, and the lovely piece of family history involved is that Edward Timothy White, blacksmith,(whose direct descendant has contacted me) was responsible for the railings outside the British Museum.
I think I'd rather like to claim this particular WHITE branch of the family as my own, however far-fetched it might turn out to be!

A good idea to try to dispose of 'unrequired' certificates through this medium,Keith, glad to hear you had an interesting response.
