Myocardial degeneration

Arterio sclerosis

Senility 

The last one I know but wondered if relevant .

Here's a few more old terms for 'Causes of Death'

PHTHISIS  =  Consumpton or T.B. (in last night's WDYTYA)
CRISEPELAS PHRENITIS    =  Septicaemia
ALBUMINARIA  =  Usually Heart or Kidney Disease
(but can also be caused by exertion or standing too long)

I wouldn't have thought senility would be an actual cause of death either. Maybe it was simply added because it was a pre-existing condition?

Matty - I used to know what senile meant but now I have passed 70 I have forgotten

Matty , I have exactly the same cause of death for a relative died March 1972, not that long ago,
 senility was the 3rd cause of death.
1) Myocardial degeneration
2 Arterio sclerosis
3)Senility
In this case maybe senility is used for old age? she was 99!

I think you're right Newbie. I was thinking more of loss of faculties -  but in this case it could simply mean physically worn out.
