BIRCH marriage record

I'm not sure if anyone can help with this one.  I have just found out I have a link to the IOM.

Charles Birch b 1857 (Born Liverpool) married Margaret E b 1867 (born on IOM) and had at least two children Thomas Edward and Charles Henry.  Thomas Edward was also born on the IOM in 1889.

Are there any marriage reocrds for this pair.

I'm still looking for this pair or if anyone can find any 1891 census records for Birch on the IOM I would appreciate it.

Doesn't help much with their marriage though!  There's nothing on the IGI     Perhaps if you managed to get a birth certificate for one of her children (born in England), it would give you her maiden name and aid your research

*groans*  nothing in my tree is straight forward!!  Who's Lily?  a second wife maybe. No of course not, you're right she's just now down as Lily.

I'm collecting things to look for on the 1901 thats 2 things to check now (saving up to £5)

Well if his second wife is the same age and born in the IOM then yes!!

This is a bit tenuous but after reading some threads about deaf census takers....

Here middle initial was E.  I wonder if that was Elizabeth and she was known as Lizzie - can you see where I'm going with this one!!

I notice they have moved along the road too.

Yes, you could well be right, you have to have a very open-mind with these old records

It ought to reveal Margaret/Lily's maiden name and progress your research.  You can apply online at
