1901 census and 1881 census lookup please.
« on: Saturday 15 July 06 19:20 BST (UK) »
Hi cant find a SAMUEL BRUZE on 1881 census.I dont know much about him at all - sorry but he links with IGI to my family of Bruce's.

In 1899 samuel Bruze married an Eliza Jones his father was callled Thomas .
Samuel was age 49 when he wed Eliza age 47.So Samuel was born around 1850 , Eliza around 1852.

I cannot find anything about samuel surely he must be on a census in 1851 with his father

 Any help appreciated cheers
sue

Hi Sue,

To be perfectly honest, not only can't I find him on the
'81 or '01, with the exception of the IGI marriage he doesn't
appear to exist at all?
All the applicable census returns have been tried - using Bruze, Bruse, Bruce, Brews etc. inc. the wild card  ???.
BMD - nothing!
I am sure I can't be the only person who is exhausting all
the options either  :-\.
I will keep looking and in the meantime hopefully someone
might find the answer  :)

Good luck,

Pels

Hi again,

I've checked the 1901 census and Samuel and Eliza
are there with 5 children + the mother in law - Mary
Evans.
This ties in with the IGI - Eliza Jones's father
being listed as William Evans!
Both husband and wife were born in Wales - would you still
like this following up?

Regards,

Pels

Was having a poke around on this one and uncovered something a little strange

1891 wales
RG12/4619
folio 144
page 31

Mill House, Bersham, Denbighshire. (Surname transcribed as Brege)

Thomas Breeze, head, widow, 60, bn Llanfair, Montgomery.
Alfred Breeze, son, single, 22, printers composite, bn Owestry, Salop.
John Lewis Breeze, son, single, 18, scholar, bn Abenbury, Flint (I think)
Sarah A James, servant, single, 13, general servant domestic, bn Afn, Denbigh.

RG12/4619
folio 119
page 41

Every thing is the same, address etc and family living next door except they are transcribed and on the image as Bruze.

I have never come accross two copies of the same family in the same census. Hand wriiting is different and on the second census that page is the last of that set Dendighshire, Bersham, district 18. First image was Denbighshire, Bersham, district 38.

Not sure if this is your guys family but it seems to explain the possible name mix up of Breeze and Bruze.
Glendenning
Laycock
Wilson
Garnett
(Halifax, Shelf, Hunslet, Bradford, Manningham, Leeds)

Hi,
Is this SAMUEL BREEZE the same person as SAMUEL BRUZE ?
I am confused ! I know with some of my families the surnames are always mispelt. However they are linked on IGI on www.familysearch.org to my BRUCE side .The batch number is M162411.Will he be related if he is on the  same batch number??
I have come across many different spellings of BRUCE ! i know people spelt my name wrong.
I cant seem to get further back and im hoping SAMUEL is a cousin however all my Bruce side originate Stockton.
