I found out that I am related to Susannah North (my 9GGM), executed for witchcraft in Salem in 1692.  It is well documented with wills, property records, etc.

I would have figured that it would be on my wife's side..... ;D

Hi All,

I had a look at the list of names, and my surname is on the list, but the notes underneath, state

" List of modernised versions of names of local people arrested, tried and possibly executed as a result of a false accusation of witchcraft between 1590 and 1650. Local residents with these surnames whose families have lived in the area for generations are very likely to be descendants/relatives of these people."

So I don't know if my Buchanan was executed, and don't know what christian name was. I don't know if they are related. Think that someone got nice publicity for Prestoungrange but not much substance.
