Brooklands Street, Salford ???
« on: Wednesday 02 August 06 20:05 BST (UK) »
My grandmother was born at home at 73, Brookland Street, Salford and later lived in Holly Street, Salford.  Does anyone know if these Streets are still around, I believe Holly Street was off Regent Road, does anyone have any photographs of these streets.

Hi,
Brookland St. was off Eccles New Rd. (the Trafford Rd.end), running parallel to Langworthy Rd. and Holly St. was 3 streets away
Both streets have long gone
Salford Library may have photographs of the area prior to demolition
Regards, Dave

Thanks for the information.  I don't live in the UK so I am unable to go to Salford Library.

I realise that your post was some years ago but I just came across it. I grew up at number 73. My parents lived there from 1928 I think. The houses were demolished some time in the 1980's.

Anyone heard of Brookland Villa football team?  I've got a couple of piccies circa 1960 and knew a couple of players that lived on Brookland Street/Sth. Langworthy Road.
