Marriage in 1896 in Wexford RC Church. Anna Maria's father John was deceased and had been a sergeant major in the 3rd Battalion, Royal Irish Regiment.

Doubtful. And even if you did find something, may not be particularly useful. You may be thinking of the complete service records that can exist for Great War soldiers? They don't exist as far as I know for Victorian era servicemen. What may exist in the English national archives are pay rolls, muster books, and records of the Royal Hospitals.
