I was confused first of all,in thinking that they were both born in Flint itself. However it appears Thomas was born in Meliden and Margaret was born in Prestatyn. It appears that their first son Thomas was born in Llanrug Caernarvonshire in c 1870.

There is a possible marriage in St Asaph in the March quarter 1868 (Free BMD) between a Thomas Edwards and a Margaret Roberts.  Could these be yours?

Hi helkar,
March 31 1868. Prestatyn.
Thomas Edwards. Full age. Railway Porter. Abode, Prestatyn. Father, Edward. Occ, Engineer.
Margaret Roberts. Full age. Sempstress. Abode, Prestatyn. Father, Thomas. Occ, Parish Clerk & Post Master.
Witnesses, Thomas Price & Elizabeth Roberts.

Prestatyn Baptisms of the children of Thomas & Margaret Edwards. Railway Porter.
Feb 28 1869. Edward William. Abode. Queensferry Station.
March 21 1870. Thomas. Cwm-Y-Glo Station. Carnarvonshire.
Sep 22 1871. Edward. Holywell Station, Greenfield.
July 22 1874. Samuel William. Chester.

When there are two children with the same name, it usually means the first one died and the second one is named after them.

Hope you find this helpful.

Paul.
