Wrong Parents - have to start again

Hi there,
    I wonder if someone can help me re-establish the line Iam following.
I have had the wrong date for William J Collins birth and hence have been using the wrong parents.

Iam looking for  information on his real parents
Robert Edwin Collins and Harriett Port.

 I have them in the 1881 census as living at 1 Dent De Lion Cottages Margate Kent with children Harriet,Clara,John,Elizabeth Albert and William J.Collins(5mths)

I also  would like to find out who this William J Collins married to see if the forward part of my tree is still intact.

I would really appreciate if someone may be able to put me on the right track again.

May I ask you what the starting point of your tree is, if you are not sure of parents nor children?

1881 has:
Robert Collins age 37 Richborough
Harriet, wife, 36, b. Woodnesborough
Harriet, dau, 12, b. Minster
...
In 1891, Roberts birthplace is Sandwich - Harriets is Woodnesboro

By 1901, Robert and Harriet were born in Ash.

William is not obvious - not using Margate as a PoB it would seem.

I havent looked for a marriage - w/o a census xref it will be a needle in a haystack I suspect !

any knowledge of his occupation in the early 1900s ?

just found that one Tati - has the right ingredients. 

DownUnder - what about the marriages from 1898 onward - a few William J's of various flavours - no way of knowing unless the requestor has knowledge ?
