BISCOE Family
« on: Wednesday 09 August 06 11:49 BST (UK) »
am interested in any information regarding the Biscoe family. especially those born in and around Much Hadham.
does anyone have  William Biscoe born about 1820 in their records. he was baptised in Much Hadham. he often used the name John.
i believe his parents may have been James Biscoe and Charlotte Dean.
thanks

I don't know if this is of any use to you but I have a Frank Biscoe in my tree. He married my Nan's cousin Honoria Maude Freeman (b.1883 Meesden) in March 1909 in Elham, Kent.

Frank was born in Folkestone in 1887 - but - his father George was born in Sawbridgeworth in 1856 as were his sisters Hannah and Sarah. I believe that George's father and Grandfather were born in Sawbridgeworth too.

If there is a connection let me know and I'll see if I can find out anything more.

Lyndsey

Hi Lyndsey,
thank you for your reply. i am pretty certain that there is a connection somewhere.
i have discovered that i am descended from Thomas Biscow of Hunsdon. He and his wife (Susannah) lived there during the 1750's. i believe that Thomas' grt grandfather was also named Thomas Biscoe (b 1640) of Little Munden.
do any of those names sound familiar to you?

Hi , they also had a daughter called Annie, I believe,  who was my get grandmother on paternal side.
I am in the area now doing research on them. Went yesterday to Much Hadham where they were married at St. ANDREWS, and Annie was baptised. However, I always heard Annie referee to as the Belle of Buntingford, and that her fathers corn merchant business was there. Today off to Buntingford.

If you have any leads I could do with them this morning!  My number is + 353 919363190

But equally, her old email address may not be still in use after 8 years? :-\
