Finding a census record using the address.
« on: Friday 11 August 06 13:05 BST (UK) »
I wonder if anyone can help me. I recently saw a post asking how to look up an address in a census and find who lived there. I briefly looked at it but didn't take the details in. Now I need to do this myself

I can't find this post and hope someone can point me in the direction of it!

The address I'm looking for is 18 Mountjoy Place, Newport, Monmouthshire in the 1891 census. I suscribe to Ancestry but I'm having a dozy day and can't work it out.

Thanks

FeeJay ;)

Hi Feejay
Go to 1891 Wales census, scroll down click on Monmouthshire, click on Newport, then go through each description of enumeration district until you spot Mountjoy Place - could be covered by more than one district. Then click on district and go through the images.
Hope that helps
Cheers Jan ;)
