A Greatx3 grandfather, James Allison, was born in Kilkenny 1822-25.
His father William was a (?wheel)wright.

James moved to Yorkshire and I have all the info here.

I'd appreciate anything on the Irish side.

Hello Mike,

What denomination were the Allison family?

It may be difficult to find records as Civil Registration of births, deaths and marriages in Ireland didn't commence until January 1st, 1864 although compulsory civil registration of non-Roman Catholic marriages began on April 1st, 1845.
