WOW, what an informative entry for Hannah,  have not seen that before.
Also living next door were James and Mary GOODSELL and children.

The only John on the 1851 that showed up was one married to Lucy, with quite a few young children that should have still been with him on the 1871.

The John Southwell I am interested in is the cordwainer married to Mary. John and Lucy came to Australia in 1858, I think he was the cousin of the one I am interested in. Confusing eh!
If you have anything else on John and Mary that would be great.

Thank you again, I see you are in Australia, hence the rapid reply, I found Mary remarried in 1872 so that is the end of that.
No children except my g.g.g. grandfather John, illegitimate son of John, the mother's name was also Mary.
We are going to Sussex in October so nice to be able to roam around the area to see where they lived.
