Church in Old Kilpatrick COMPLETED
« on: Saturday 02 September 06 17:21 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help.
I am trying to find our which church my ancestors would have used.
They lived in Old Kilpatrick, Duntocher.
And they were Church of Scotland.

And moved to Clydebank in the early 1900's.

I would like to look up any old church records.

Thank you.

Had a quick look through the yellow pages and found St Patricks Church , 252 Dumbarton Rd , Old Kilpatrick , tel 01389 873 044.

Also Church of Scotlands regional office  , 0141 333 1948

Have you tried Clydebank library, the have a Heratige section?

Best wishes
Mrst

Hi Mrst
Thank you for the info.  ;)

I have contacted Clydebank library for the poll books but not their Heritage section.
What sort of info do they have in the Heritage section?

Thank you.

Having consulted the yellow pages again , I realise that it is not in the library.  ::)

Try Clydebank Museum , Town Hall , Dumbarton Rd , Clydebank.
Tel : 0141 562 2400

Cheers!

Hi mrst,

Hi Petsy I bet your ancestors like mine used Old Kilpatrick Parish Church-the one attached to OK cemetery.
Other possible contender is the Barclay Church which was blown down in the 1968 storm. It was halfway-up the hill on the left-hand side of the same street which the Ferry is on(but other side of Dumbarton Rd & up.)
There may have been others but those are the ones I know.
Clydebank whereabouts? There were/are so many.
Waddell-Perthshire,Dollar,Clydebank,Glasgow & USA.
Scott -Roxb,Midlothian.
McKimmies-Aberdeenshire,Banff,Morayshire,Niagara&NewJersey.Old Kilpatrick.
