I would suggest that you start a new thread for your querie on Darrel Wood. I am going to provide some information that may help in your search. I checked on-line deths through the Royal Canadian Legion and didn't find a death for him but he may not have been covered in their lists. I also checked with the Nova Scotia Historical Vital Statistics page and couldn't find anything for the names you mentioned. River Hebert was a coal mining community and several Wood families lived in the coal mining towns including River Hebert, Joggins and Springhill. They also lived in the coal towns in Pictou and Cape Breton counties. If he lived in River Hebert you may get information through the funeral home and churches.

www.canada411.ca
is an on-line telephone directory that still lists Wood for River Hebert. I would write a letter to them as one may have information on one of the names you mention. If an address isn't given, use the name, River Hebert NS, Canada and the postal code. The mail should reach the recipient. I will continue on a new post.

Cumberland County Gen Web Page
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nscumber/

You may find a link here that you can use.

http://www.furlongjones.ca/
This is the funeral home in River Hebert. Not much on-line but there is an address that you can write for information. River Hebert is a small town and most people know each other so you  may get information from them if at least one member of the family stayed in River Hebert.

Cumberland County Genealogical Society
http://www.ccgs.ednet.ns.ca/index.html
This should show you a map of the area and where River Hebert is in location to other towns. I would contact all the churches to see if they have information and also the library to see if they can help as well.
Genealogy is very popular in Cumberland county and you may get lucky and someone may recognize the name.
I would definitely start a new thread for Darrel Ansell Wood, River Hebert
Good luck

I also suggested in a PM that a new thread be started for this query as it gets confusing to mix families - although you never know they may be related.

I have a theory - but it is just that as it will be hard to prove.
