Can anyone possibly suggest an easier way than the way I am currently thinking for this problem?
Allegedly, my GGP's who married in 1881, raised a family, (thankyou to all who provided details) died sometime during WWII, other than the obvious of a mega search with BDM is there an easier way of locating a date?   I'm in Australia so it will be via mail.

It is relatively quick to go through the GRO index even though it is quarter by quarter providing you are not searching for a surname like Smith.
