Birth 1866 in Sligo
« on: Friday 05 November 04 14:16 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone

Forgive my ignorance, but I've just found out that an ancestor was born in Sligo, Ireland in 1866.  Her father was in the army at the time.  Is there some sort of barracks there?  What could be the reason for them being there, they had only just got back from Gibralter.  Any ideas?

Hi Sligo

Thanks very much for that info.   At least now, I know that all the family were in Sligo in a certain period of time and why and not just the mother returning to her roots.
