( Somerset) 1841/1851/1861 Census Lookup Requests Please For William Rossiter

Hi,

I am looking for information please about the parents, siblings and children of William Rossiter born circa 1825 in North Petherton.

He married Maria Sawley ( born circa 1829 at North Petherton) on October 4th 1850 in North Petherton.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Hi rcuser, I think this is them on the 61 census, looks like they have either been given wrong ages or the children that are with them are there grandchildren

I don't think it is your William and Maria as I have found that family on the 51 and they are quite old on that one as well. Can't seem to find them.

Many thanks for your posts. I already have both those families in my database and I don't think that they are the ones I am looking for.

Just wondered if it is possible to find the marriage record and identify William's father. Might make him easier to trace.

Tried looking for their marriage on FreeBMD but was unable to find it.

Another possibility is finding a death record for Maria Sawley as that might give an indication where they were living. making them easier to find.

Maria Baker could have married William Rossiter

Both of these entries are now on FreeBMD which was recently updated.

Hi DS,

Just checked Maria's year of birth which is 1829 and discounts the marriage to William Baker in 1841 as she would only be 12.

Looks like it is back to square one, looking for  Wiliam born circa 1825 in North Petherton.

Wonder too if there are any baptism records to William & Maria in North Petherton.

may i ask where you got the name of maria sawyer??
i take it you dont have a marriage certificate?
maybe she could be the maria baker marriage for 1850?
cant seem to find this family at all on any cencus.
